Frequently Asked Questions

What Areas do you cover?

Available within a 100-mile radius of Alcester, Warwickshire. If you’re a little further afield, feel free to contact us and we’ll happily see what can be arranged.

What does typical school workshop involve?

Time Jester brings history to life through humour and highly interactive workshops. Pupils take part in object handling, try on period clothing, explore medieval food and daily life, and engage in drama and movement. Workshops can also feature safe, supervised weapon displays, such as archery or sword demonstrations. Each session is carefully researched and delivered to a high standard, bringing to life the fascinating stories and experiences of people living in the medieval period.

How do we book?

Fill out my enquiry form on the home page or alternatively just send us an email over at info@time-jester.co.uk and we will get right back to you.

How do we Pay?

I always invoice the school around a week before the visit and you can pay either on the day or afterwards by school cheque or BACS.

Where will you hold the workshop?

A larger space is always better, such as school halls, gyms or dining rooms, but larger classrooms are also fine. We are very flexible and will try and accommodate any amount of space. Archery demonstrations can be set up safely in school fields.

Are you DBS Certified?

Yes. I hold a current Basic DBS certificate, which I am happy to bring with me on the day of the workshop if requested. As a small business operating as a sole trader, I am unable to apply for an Enhanced DBS independently.

All workshops are delivered under the supervision of school staff, and I am never left alone with pupils or involved in regulated activity. If a school or organisation requires an Enhanced DBS check prior to a visit, they are very welcome to apply for this on my behalf, and I will gladly provide all required details to support the process.

Do you have public liability insurence?

Yes, Please ask for a copy!

Do you have risk assessments?

Yes. All our activities have been risked assessed and teachers will be sent all relevant ones before our arrival.

Are you required to dress up for a visit?

No, but I do encourage schools to have a dressing up day for the workshop! It can be great build-up to the day if classes make there own helmets, shields, swords and other costume ideas.

Do you need anything setup in the school hall or Classroom?

All we ask is for the use of a Screen / Projector and a few tables. mats & benches for the children to sit on if available in the school hall. We also ask that we must be able to arrive 1 hour before the scheduled start time to be able to set up ready for the workshop.
